NFL Super Bowl Preview

SEA v NE
Pk
47.5
Although the Seahawks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 against New England and have covered 3 of 4 against the AFC East, I like the Pats to prevail. It’s awfully difficult to win consecutive Super Bowls, and I believe Richard Sherman’s injury will be a factor against Tom Brady, who will no doubt exploit that slight weakness if he’s able.
Pick: NE 30-24 (Over)

With Aaron Rodgers injured, this could be a tough game for Green Bay. Seattle simply doesn’t lose at home. That said, it’s awfully tough to blow out a team as good as Green Bay twice in one season, and the Packers defense knows it has to step up because the offense won’t be as effective as it usually is. I think this game will stay close and be low-scoring.
Pick: GB +7. Seahawks advance to the Super Bowl, 17-13 (Under)

Indy is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 against the Pats and were blown out by Brady and company a few months ago. Indy’s defense found a way to shut down Manning, though, so maybe they’ll keep Brady in check. Ultimately I do expect a close game, but still believe the Pats will win by a touchdown, especially at Foxboro.
Pick: NE -6.5. Pats advance to the Super Bowl, 27-20 (Under)

The Pats tend to have trouble with the Ravens in Foxboro, but they know that. Baltimore’s defense isn’t as good as it’s been in previous years, and after a week of rest I think Brady and the Pats will light them up.
Pick: NE -7. Pats win 38-21 (Over)

This takes no thought at all. Carolina isn’t very good and Seattle doesn’t lose at home. I’ll be surprised if the Carolina offense scores.

I doubt all the divisional games will be blowouts, but Green Bay’s offense has been virtually unstoppable at home. Though it’ll be cold, the current weather forecast doesn’t call for much wind. As long as the ball goes where Rodgers intends – and he doesn’t get hurt any worse than he already is – the Packers should win.
Pick: GB -5.5. Packers win 35-21 (Over)

IND @ DEN

This game could be close, given Andrew Luck’s comeback ability, or it could be a blowout, given Peyton Manning’s ability to put up absurd point totals against mediocre defenses, like that of the Colts. I’m feeling a blowout…but I just picked blowouts in every single game this weekend, so I’m going to pick this one to stay close.
Pick: IND +7. Broncos win 27-24 (Under)
